Our approach to analysis uses thematic analysis that is informed by our teams knowledge, understanding and lived experience as Māori.

Reviewing data and information through a Māori lens provides a critical perspective and point of difference to our work. It ensures findings are relevant and meaningful to challenging the status quo towards enhanced benefits for Māori communities.

Our Kaupapa Māori Approach
By Māori
Our mahi is guided by tikanga and mātauranga

We have a team of Māori researchers, evaluators and facilitators that use their lived experience and knowledge of te reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori to inform our work.
With Māori
Our contribution is greater when we work in partnership

We design the approach to our mahi alongside funders, service providers, and where possible whānau and community. We ensure our approach is fit for purpose of our engagement in the mahi and to meet the needs of the stakeholders we engage with, especially Māori whānau, community and service providers.
For Māori
Our mahi supports quality improvement to enable equitable outcomes for Māori

We capture the aspirations and needs of whānau, hapū, iwi and hāpori to understand how services and programmes benefit Māori whānau and communities. Our work informs the strategic and operational changes required to enhance outcomes and benefits for whānau, hapū, iwi and hāpori.
Whakatauki
Waiho I te toipoto, kaua i te toiroa
He tina ki runga, he tāmore ki raro
Tangata e ako ana i te kāinga, tūngia ki te marae, tau ana
I orea te tuatara ka patu ki waho
Mā mua ka kite a muri, mā muri ka ora a mua
